[Carpenter] Fw: [Fwd: cost share project]

Kevin,
For the $50.00 per acre I would give you 2 pounds of grass seed (local
ecotype) and one pound
of forbs (local ecotype). There would be 10 different species.
For the $200.00 per acre price, I would include 5 different kinds of
local ecotype grass--prairie
dropseed, little bluestem, big bluestem, Indian grass, either side oats or
Virginia wild rye. For the
wildflowers, there would be nearly 35 species of local ecotype species and a
couple pretty
species from surrounding states that we do not grow for one reason or
another; I.e. gold finches
eat the seed before we have a chance to harvest. One species in particular
is purple coneflower.
The source is from Missouri, but it is grown in Nebraska. There, too maybe a
couple species that
could come from southern Iowa with the same genetics. I would put 3 pounds
of wildflowers to the grass
mix of 4 pounds with a total of 7 pounds per acre.
If I can get an opportunity to harvest seed from the Shoop Tract, I will
try and give most of what I
harvest to you first. I am willing to pay Mr. Shoop for the harvesting. I
would only harvest 1/3 of the
entire tract so as to leave plenty of food for wildlife. Frank

PS Our daughter, Heidi and her three kids will be here from Sat. to
Wednesday. Please feel
welcome to come by. The ages are 5, 3 and nearly 2. Kevin, I understand
your current job circumstance,
if you choose not to do this--or any part of this, we can work on this next
year--or we would be more than
willing to do the planting and you could pay us anytime in the future.
fo
