All -
A silly question, but is the ground still going to be frozen by mid-March?
I noticed the days are warming up in Kirksville, including the glorious
past weekend we had, but nights are still around freezing.
Its not like I can reschedule our Orchard planting, but I am getting a bit
concerned since I imagine frozen ground would be a problem even for the
auger on the tractor.
Hopefully see a few of you this weekend at the Burn Workshop. We are
coming up this Friday mid-afternoon to complete the SWCD signup (with the
14th as a fall-back plan).
Tractor and RTV is scheduled for delivery next Friday afternoon, the 14th.
Cargo container is on the ground.
We have opted to install a 6-wire 6' electric fence kit from
electric-deer-fence.com (a targeted web page from a company that offers
many forms of fencing). The plan is to fence in the entire area around
the house zone and plant the trees WITH the land contour instead of
squeezing and having to plant in some type of grid. The fence will be
solar powered, since I don't have an electrical tap yet. The area will
consist of a few acres in the south west section, immediately south of
Sonny Darr's 20 acre rectangle. Thats outside the area that Donny is
going to work on. Hmmm... its the north-west corner of section 3 on John
Murphys project plan (small version attached), west of the power line.
Cheers!
Kevin
