Talked it over with Evia briefly this morning, and if all goes well with
our two hives, we will bump up to five next year.

The goal isn't honey production (we will all have all we can use from the
two!), but rather a hope they will swarm regularly and repopulate the
local environment.  The hives take a serious honey production hit when
that happens, which is why beekeepers try to manage the hives to avoid
swarming, but given all the news about declining bee populations, this
feels like the right thing to do.
