[Carpenter] FSA Letter

All -

I'm awaiting receipt of a photocopy of our letters before I call the FSA
office, but it appears per http://www.fsa.usda.gov that:

We are eligible for 85% of my acres * yield in direct payments for each crop.

Thats 85% of 16.5 acres of corn * 99% yield = 13.88 acres of corn
      85% of 17.9 acres of soy * 25% yield = 3.80 acres of soybeans

The counter-cyclical payments only kick in when the grain prices are low,
not a likely issue these days.

Evia and I each got such a letter, although they were in the same envelope.

All the above is based on the 2002 farm bill, which I think expired in
2007. I'm not finding anything about the current farm bill on the
website.

Calling soon...

Kevin
